After we are studied hard and practiced on the debate skills around one month ago, we’re welcome two international debate trainers to come to train us in the Department of Media and Communication (DMC)’s debate club.

It was a very beneficial and helpful time for us to improve debate skills during the international debate trainers’ visit, which came to train us for three days from 19 to 21 January in Royal of University of Phnom Penh. We are very appreciate that trainers Chirada Fang NaSuwan (Thailand) and Margo Loor (Europe) came to train us in Cambodia. Even though it is a short time for us, we study and learn a lot of from them on debate skills for three days training.

This debate club has just been created but we keep continuing and even have plans to compete with others school to get awards and a championship.

Mr. Dara Saoyuthnea, one among debaters in club, said that “I’m very interested in the debate. It was very nice to me. It was my first experience as a debater and it’s a talent that I’ve never known since I was born.”

Miss. Chanvetey Vann is a potential student in the debate club. She said that “It was amazing! I loved it. The trainers were very enthusiastic in sharing their knowledge. I like Margo and Chirada for they are hard working and friendly.”

Moreover, we will select some debaters from club to join The 1st IDEA Asia Youth Forum (Pattaya, Bangkok 14-27 May this year). This is a best and great opportunity for us to challenge others debaters in Asia.
