Look out for Logos Hope

DSC_0032

Look out for Logos Hope, only the largest floating book store in the world! With over 50,000 book titles that were collected and displayed to be bought, Logos Hope reached the Southeast Asian shores recently and will be circulating around the Southeast Asian region in the next few months.

Having recently stopped by two ports in Malaysia: Penang and Port Klang, I’ve managed to tour the ship a little and snap a few photos. With RM1 for the entrance fee, I was led by the volunteers into a section where potential book buyers sit through a video introduction of the ship, before we were walked into shelves and shelves of books ranging from children’s books to adult fiction. They’ve also sold a few Logos Hope memorabilia for those keen to bring a little piece of their adventure back home.

Other facilities includes a performance made out by shadow puppets, a cafeteria, and a more extensive tour if you pay a higher priced entrance fee (Disclaimer: This writer was not aware of the higher priced tour until much later. She could’ve taken more photos of the interiors of the ship).

After the current Kota Kinabalu stop in East Malaysia, Logos Hope will soon make its way down to Singapore from December 16th 2011 till January 4th 2012. Then it’ll head to the Philippines whereby it’ll drop by five main ports from January 10th 2012 till June 25th 2012, before moving into Indonesia.

Cindi Loo
is the other editor of SEA Youth Say So. She's always in a dilemma. She does not believe in her writing skills even though she prides on it, that’s why she must keep learning the essence of text expressions. She also loves her rock (specifically indie rock) and photography (still a novice). She does not like deciding what her stories sound like, so she’ll let you decide if she’s a deep philosopher or simply an arrogant hipster through her stories. She tumbles at Random Nostalgia.
