Small, but Help Anyway!

Have you ever contributed a small penny from your pocket to the social benefits such as fundraising for poor or vulnerable groups? As idea of compiling a small contribution, it transforms to thousands of contribution which it will make strong impact to the society.

Proposed by many small group of university students who are willing to put their efforts to the society, small concerts and charity activities to collect the money from other students in university contributing to the provincial poor kids has come up as a spirit of social help.

With sense of social volunteerism, a round 500 students with lecturers involved in charity activities, like playing games, selling T-shirts,performing concerts and other fun activities.

Selling ticket is the way collecting money for fundraising. People can spend their money around $1US to $1.50US to buy a ticket to see concert performed talented students and lecturers with programs of singing, dancing, telling joke, and other acting. Participants will have chance to get fun and involve in charity activities. Money collecting form fund raising will be contribute to the  provincial poor kids in Kom Pot province in pictures of educational stationery and small budgets.

Volunteerism is also what other can do. It is not waste much time or money. But it is a price to the society we are living in. For example, OOPs team, more or less, is working with sense of volunteerism to propose the idea to be part of social develop. They have seen Cambodia has remained many poor people and some can’t access to well education.

They come up with idea to conduct fundraising, aiming to help poor groups as a part of supports for their lives. Besides fundraising, this group has working in other plans such as peer training, workshop, and other activities.

“This activities objective to encourage other youths and people to start to think in social benefit by their volunteerism. Don’t care whatever you are or wherever you live, start to do something effective to the society, “said one of the program organizers.

Presently, many youth group are created in the sense of helping and promoting social activities. They set up their plans and objectives to promote situation of Cambodians.
